Meet the Artist Behind the 2027 OGC Theme - Nick Rivers!

We’re excited to introduce Nick Rivers, the talented artist behind the beautiful theme artwork for OGC 2027!

Nick is an Addy Award-winning illustrator and the founder of Black Rivers Studio LLC, based right here in Omaha, Nebraska. He specializes in dynamic, colorful artwork inspired by the bold energy and visual style of comic books.

Working in both digital and traditional illustration, Nick is known for his distinctive artistic style, creative compositions, and exceptional layout skills. His work brings energy, personality, and a sense of adventure to every piece he creates.

Special Guests

Eric M. Lang

Returning for a second year is Eric Lang.  He is an award-winning Canadian board game designer with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with publishers including Fantasy Flight Games, WizKids, and CMON, and is best known for the hit game Blood Rage. His body of work is quite impressive with games such as Life in Reterra, I Heart Manatees, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid and many, many more.  In recognition of his contributions to gaming, he received the Diana Jones Award in 2016.  

Randy Flynn

Joining us for the first time is Randy Flynn, joining us from the Pacific Northwest. He is best known for Cascadia, which won the Spiel des Jahres in 2022. Randy is an incredible designer with a fun personality. We look forward having him at OGC 2027. Come to OGC so you can meet him, learn more about his life, other games he has designed, and maybe even get him to the table to play a game.

Join us on Thursday, July 8, 2027, the day before the Omaha Gaming Convention officially begins, for an extended 4-hour tour of Omaha with Ollie The Trolley. 

Come a day or two early, bring the whole family, and discover the sights, history, and attractions that make Omaha such a special place. Then, spend the weekend playing games, meeting fellow gamers, attending events, and enjoying everything OGC has to offer.
