Eric M. Lang
Eric M. Lang is an award-winning Canadian board game designer with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with publishers including Fantasy Flight Games, WizKids, and CMON, and is best known for the hit game Blood Rage. His body of work is quite impressive with games such as Life in Reterra, I Heart Manatees, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid and many, many more. In recognition of his contributions to gaming, he received the Diana Jones Award in 2016.

Our Mission
Our mission is to host Omaha’s premier board game convention, the Omaha Gaming Con. This annual gathering focuses on board games and takes place in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska, where hobbyists and newcomers from around the world feel welcomed to play, learn, and belong.
We uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion as paramount values. We strive to deliver positive tabletop experiences at every turn, providing a safe space for individuals and families from all walks of life to come together and enjoy board game events.
Convention Leadership
As of August 1, 2026, Mik, Starla, and Grant of
Our Family Plays Games became the sole owners of the
Omaha Gaming Convention (OGC).
Together, they are committed to building on the success they created alongside their former partners, Matt and Dana Bach of The Board Game Wagon. Their vision is to make OGC an even bigger, better, and more memorable experience for the gaming community.
As OGC continues to grow, Mik, Starla, and Grant are committed to establishing Omaha, Nebraska and the Omaha Gaming Convention as a must-visit destination for gamers from across the country and around the world, especially those seeking something different from the traditional convention experience. Their vision is to create a truly elevated board gaming experience where diversity, inclusion, and community are not just ideals, but core values at the heart of everything OGC represents.
